Theophilus London
Theophilus London is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York City. Originally born in Trinidad, Theo moved at an early age to Brooklyn where he found a love for hip hop music. Since then he has gone on to become a worldwide recognized rapper.
If you’ve heard Theo’s music, then you could say that he makes rap music for the trendy crowd. One wouldn’t be surprised to hear his music at a gallery opening or as the exit music for a provocative new play. Very experimental and electro inspired by and similar in many respects to the avantgarde Santigold or MGMT using a mixture of exotic sounds and instruments. With influences of 80’s beats chopped and reworked to accompany Theo’s Hip Hop routes and smooth lyrical style.
One of Theo’s unique points is he’s not similar to any other rapper that has broke out of Brooklyn in recent times. He is a true groundbreaker – setting trends and supplying the world with good music. Theo has a very big following around the world and is a hugely well connected fellow with many celebrity friends. Two in particular are PONY’s very own Dee and Ricky. Earlier this year we saw Dee take some time out to accompany Theo out on tour in Europe when he opened up for Marylin Manson at the Wireless concert.
