PONY travels to Compass in Las Vegas…again
So, as you all know, PONY travels to Vegas for trade shows 4 times a year! Which sounds like a lot of fun and gambling and who knows what else, right? But we actually work really hard to show off our new line, get orders, meet people and publications, and get the word out about PONY!
So we loaded up the old Griswold family wagon, and Jordan, Colin, Robbie and I headed to Vegas and the amazing 110 degree “dry heat” that comes along with it!

We arrived and got to work setting up the show! We got to see some old friends and enjoyed the great mix of tunes by DJ Lucas Walters…once work was done, it was off to Zappos.com’s 10-year Anniversary Party, and due to the extremely large chunk of change they received when they recently sold the company, you can imagine that they spared no expense…there were fairies everywhere, and carnival games, and people walking on water in bubbles – really! It was amazing. Colin even got to meet the CEO! I’d have a huge smile on my face if I was him too…

The next day Compass opened it’s doors! And it was back to work!

Of course, we had a little fun in-between at the BPMW’s Compass party at Peppermill…for those of you who have never been there – you have to check it out! They have fire in water – they really do! And giant drinks called Scorpions…and not to mention a bunch of girls working there that are dressed like they are going to the 1996 prom – Robbie picked up his second wife there! But that was short-lived…

After another hard day at work, tons of meetings and orders, and breaking down our booth, we headed to the Double Down for some dingey fun, where we definitely spread the PONY love…to a bunch of Roller Derby Girls, a man in a pink suit (I named him Pinky – Pinky loved his pink twin, Colin), the Bacon Brothers, who had just gotten a sizzling bacon and a “skull and cross bacon” tattooed on them…Robbie’s third wife…and many many more….

The next day, we were exhausted and excited about the close of another wonderful Compass show! We hit the road back to sunny San Diego…I would put some attractive photos of Robbie sleeping in the car with his mouth open…but he would kill me…
Oh Snap! Great PONY Pics, Kenny Sanchez
Feast your eyes below on some amazing PONY photos. Our props to photographer Kenny Sanchez. Kenny was born and raised in San Jose and studied Radio-TV-Film at SJSU, and just recently found his love for photography! Most of his influence comes from music videos and their creative angles, transitions, wide-angle lenses, and eye-catching colors. Check out more of his work at his website!
Thanks for making our Neff Signatures, Cosmos, and Uptowns (my personal faves) come to life in your photos! Wow! I might have to go out and buy me a leotard!

Get your Classic PONY tees and hats!!!
Visit our online Pop-up shop to get a super soft tri-blend PONY tee or a classic PONY trucker hat!!!! You’ll be stylin’!

Keep your eyes peeled…Jim Ward sneak peek #1
Pay attention to this man below. His name is Jim Ward, currently lead singer of the band Sleepercar, (pictured here at the SPIN party at South by Southwest), and lead singer of Sparta and guitarist and vocalist of groundbreaking At the Drive-In. He is also the founder of Civil Defense League Records. This man has more street cred than most rockers combined…check out his tunes, keep posted for more info about Jim, and keep a watchful eye on PONY and Jim – something amazing might be brewing (*hint*hint*)…

Also pictured are the 15U boys team who placed 3rd at the “Shootout at the Boro” and qualified for in the YBOA 15U Nationals in Orlando. Not pictured are the !6U boys team which advanced to the Elite 8 in the Adidas tournament in Cincinnati and also qualified for the YBOA 16U Nationals in Orlando.
Lastly, pictured are the 17U boys teams and they have had a tremendous summer so far including winning the “Chicago Hardwood Classic”, winning the 2009 YBOA State Championships, qualifying the 17U Nationals in Orlando and advancing to the Sweet 16 in the Adidas Tournament in Cincinnati. Special props to Kendal Jennings, 17U leader and swingman, who was invited to play in the State of Alabama High School North vs. South All-Star game. Kendal finished as the second leading scorer including a couple of fantastic dunks and two clutch free throws at the end of the game to give the Alabama North All-Stars a 69-66 victory.
