Last week, the NBA lost a legend. Manute Bol, a tribesman from Sudan, was one of the best shot blockers in American basketball history. Not only was he a great basketball player, he was also an activist who returned to his homeland to try and rebuild a country torn by a civil war. Bol was 7 feet 6 inches tall and quickly broke the rookie record for his shot blocking. He was a fan magnet and people flocked to see him in action. He was the tallest player in the NBA when PONY athlete and Slam Dunk Contest winner Spud Webb was the shortest. Check out the pic below. The two regularly played against each other drawing even more fan excitement. We are sad to see such a giving man and athletic marvel pass away…
